HERU Cubera Popper – Handcrafted Topwater Big‑Game Popper
Made in Indonesia.
The HERU Cubera is a powerful, handcrafted topwater popper built for explosive surface strikes and long‑distance casting. Each lure is shaped, painted, and tuned by hand, giving the Cubera its signature deep pop, strong bubble trail, and stable swimming posture that consistently draws predators to the surface.
Designed for GT, tuna, kingfish, amberjack, and other aggressive pelagic species, the Cubera creates a loud, heavy pop that imitates a distressed baitfish struggling at the surface. This aggressive sound and splash make it highly effective when fish are holding deeper or when you need a lure that can command attention in rough water.
Action & Performance The Cubera produces a deep, powerful pop followed by a strong surface push and bubble trail. Its tuned cup face grabs water cleanly, preventing the lure from skipping or blowing out. The balanced wood body stays planted in chop and swell, allowing anglers to work the lure with heavy pops, long sweeps, or short chugs depending on conditions.
Why Anglers Choose the Cubera
- Loud, deep popping action
- Strong bubble trail and surface disturbance

HERU TUNA Lure – Handcrafted Surface Stickbait
Made in Indonesia.
The HERU TUNA is a handcrafted surface stickbait designed for long‑distance casting, explosive topwater strikes, and reliable performance against powerful pelagic predators. Each lure is shaped, painted, and tuned by hand, giving the TUNA its signature sliding swim and sharp darting action that consistently triggers reaction bites from tuna, GT, kingfish, amberjack, and other fast‑moving species.
Built from durable wood and balanced for stability, the HERU TUNA swims with a smooth, natural S‑slide that imitates a fleeing baitfish on the surface. A quick twitch sends the lure into a sharp dart, creating an erratic escape motion that predators cannot resist. Its tuned weight distribution allows anglers to cast far and work the lure effectively even in chop or swell.
Action & Performance The HERU TUNA produces a wide, natural sliding action with a controlled roll. When twitched, it snaps sharply, mimicking a panicked baitfish skipping across the surface. This combination of slide + dart makes it deadly when tuna and other pelagics are feeding aggressively or when they need a more subtle, natural presentation.
Why Anglers Choose the HERU TUNA
- Wide, natural sliding/swimming action
- Sharp darting movement on twitch
- Excellent casting distance
- Stable in rough water

(The above is a recommended design example)
Example)
① Target fish is large → Increase the needle and ring
② Want to give the lure buoyancy → Decrease the needle and ring
Notes The following
applies to all lures manufactured by Carpenter.
① When attaching the needle to the lure, be careful not to pierce your hand with the needle when removing it.
(2) Do not use for any purpose other than fishing.
③ When throwing a lure, check the surroundings and make sure it is safe. Especially heavy lures are dangerous.
④ If the lure comes off from the hit fish, the lure may suddenly fly to the angler side. be careful.
⑤ When fishing, please protect with sunglasses, hat, gloves, clothes, etc.
⑥ Keep out of reach of children or toddlers.
⑦ Wood lures are easily damaged by needles and fish teeth when used.
⑧ Wood lure may absorb water and change its weight and balance.
⑨ Due to the nature of the material, metal parts cannot completely prevent corrosion. Please wash well after use.
⑩ The reflective sheet and sheet glue used for lures deteriorate over time regardless of whether they are used or not.
⑪ The body of a wood lure may crack if a fish is caught and the force of a lever is applied. Especially the rear part of the lure (even if it is hung once)
⑫ Most of the carpenter lures have a wire penetration structure. Due to this structure, the wire extends when a fish hangs on it. Also, the eye will rotate. (The eye may rotate even if the fish is caught once.)

Carpenter Gamma 160H-245mm FG – Tokara Special (GT & Flying Fish)
The Carpenter Gamma 160H-245mm FG is a special high-specific-gravity model from Carpenter's legendary Gamma-H series, developed for serious offshore casting and powerful gamefish.
This special edition features Carpenter's distinctive Tokara Special (GT & Flying Fish) design with a beautiful metal finish, creating a highly detailed appearance inspired by the waters of Japan's Tokara region.
The Gamma-H has a different action character from the standard Gamma. Carpenter developed the H series to give anglers another effective presentation when fish are not responding to the normal Gamma action. By changing jerk speed, stroke length, pitch, and pause, anglers can adapt the lure's presentation to changing sea conditions and fish activity.
Designed for demanding big-game casting, the Gamma 160H is an excellent choice for targeting GT (Giant Trevally), Hiramasa (Yellowtail Kingfish), and Tuna.

Carpenter BC Popper 75-145 LQ Lure:
BC popper Old-fashioned BC popper was born in 1996 from Carpenter. This popper itself has existed since I was making lures as a hobby before I started carpenter. In the fall of 1994, the year before I started carpenter, I caught yellowtail with this popper at Shiraishi Guri off the coast of Tango Peninsula. I threw it from the roof of the ship and took it out next to the bird (slow popping). At that time, no one was throwing a top water lure in Genesis of the Tango lure game, and it was a super-minor fishing with few people even jigging. I think this yellowtail is probably the first yellowtail caught at the top in Tango.
Effective Fish Species
Tuna Blue Blacked Fish (Yellowtail, amberjack), GT (Giant Trevally/Ulua).
Effective Situation
"BC Popper" is effective in the situation where tuna easily reacts to pop sounds. When aiming for GT, fast winding in the shallow area is effective.
Action
- "BC Popper 75-145 Normal" When aiming for tuna, stop and go popping is performed. When aiming for GT, it is better to just pull fast.
- "BC Popper 75-145 LQ" When aiming for tuna, stop and go popping is performed. When aiming for GT, it is better to just pull fast. Stop and go popping may also be good.

The Carpenter Strike Eagle SE 45‑165 is a high‑performance diving pencil designed for long‑distance casting and fast, controlled swimming action. Built from hand‑selected wood and individually tuned by Carpenter craftsmen, the SE 45‑165 delivers sharp, responsive movement that triggers reaction strikes from tuna, GT, kingfish, and other aggressive pelagic species.
The Strike Eagle series is known for its ability to cut through surface chop, dive cleanly, and maintain a stable swimming posture even at high retrieve speeds. The SE 45‑165 model features a compact, lightweight profile that excels when fish are feeding on smaller bait or when conditions require a lure that can be worked quickly and precisely.
Concept & Target Species The SE 45‑165 is designed for high‑speed casting and is ideal for tuna, GT, kingfish, amberjack, and other fast‑moving predators. Its tuned diving action makes it effective when fish are responding to speed, sudden direction changes, or tight swimming patterns.
Action & Performance The lure produces a crisp dive followed by a tight, fast swim with a controlled roll. This movement is engineered to switch predators into feeding mode, especially when they are chasing small bait or reacting to rapid lure motion. The Strike Eagle’s hydrodynamics allow anglers to work the lure aggressively without losing stability.

Weight is shown as an approximate weight class. Actual lure weight may vary depending on model and configuration.
Performance
The GRM is designed as an offshore popper with an emphasis on casting performance and consistent action.
Carpenter's own catch records include an angler using the GRM 100-210 SH who specifically reported excellent casting distance and noted that the lure was easy to use with very few action errors. That lure produced a 33.8 kg (approx. 75 lb) Yellowfin Tuna off Japan in 2025.
Proven on Trophy Fish
The GRM has already produced impressive catches documented by Carpenter.
A GRM 210mm SH was used to catch a 30 kg (approx. 66 lb) GT in Komodo, Indonesia. During the six-day trip, the angler landed eight GT and reported that the fish responded to the GRM when other lures were not producing.
Even more impressive, Carpenter documents a 183 kg (approx. 403 lb) Bluefin Tuna caught in Nagasaki, Japan on the GRM 120 SH in June 2025.
Available GRM Configurations
GRM 100-210mm: SH-L / SH / MD / LM
GRM 120-220mm: SH-LL / SH-L / SH / MD / LM
Different configurations may have different characteristics and weights. Choose the model that best matches your target species, tackle and fishing conditions.
Please Note
Carpenter lures are produced using natural wood bodies. Because of variations in the natural material, color and finish may vary slightly between individual lures. Carpenter also notes that metal finishes can reflect characteristics of the underlying wood body.

Carpenter Damsel 120-185mm / PP
The Carpenter Damsel 120-185mm is a floating topwater popper designed to offer a different presentation when GT, Hiramasa, and Tuna are not responding to conventional pencil lures.
Carpenter redesigned the Damsel's body shape and weight placement to create its own distinctive movement and surface action. One of its key characteristics is a “sweet” popping sound, which Carpenter notes can be particularly effective when targeting tuna.
The Damsel excels in calm, flat-water conditions, making it an excellent alternative when fish are reluctant to respond to diving pencils or other traditional surface presentations.
Specifications
Model: Damsel 120-185mm / Damsel 120-185mm PP
Length: 185 mm
Weight: Approx. 120 g*
Type: Floating (F)
Recommended Hook Weight: Approx. 11 g per hook
Recommended Split Ring: Carpenter 250 lb
Target Species: GT, Hiramasa (Yellowtail Kingfish), Tuna
Made in Japan
Action & Recommended Conditions
The Damsel produces a distinctive surface movement combined with its characteristic sweet popping sound.
Carpenter particularly recommends the Damsel in calm and flat-water conditions. When GT, Hiramasa, or Tuna are showing little interest in pencil lures, switching to the Damsel's popper presentation can give fish a completely different stimulus.
Proven in the Field
During Carpenter's testing in Okinawa under windless, glass-calm conditions, prototype Damsels produced an impressive five GT in approximately half a day of fishing.
Carpenter has also documented the Damsel being used successfully for GT, Tuna, and Sailfish, demonstrating its versatility for serious offshore casting applications.
Hook & Split Ring Recommendation
Carpenter recommends approximately 11 g per hook with a 250 lb split ring.
Hook and split-ring specifications are design recommendations and may be adjusted depending on target species, fishing conditions, and desired lure buoyancy.
Please Note
Approx. 120 g is Carpenter's published specification for the standard Damsel 120 without hooks. Weight may vary depending on model/type.
Colors and finishes may vary slightly between individual lures.

Carpenter Utahime 95-210mm SH / SH-L
The Carpenter Utahime 95-210mm SH / SH-L is a slender-profile topwater lure designed to provide a different presentation from Carpenter's traditional diving pencils such as Gamma and Blue Fish.
Carpenter developed the Utahime with a slimmer silhouette and lighter water-pushing action. This distinctive action can be particularly effective when fish are not responding to conventional diving-pencil presentations, giving anglers another option for adapting to changing bait, sea conditions, and fish behavior.
For Hiramasa (Yellowtail Kingfish) and GT, Carpenter has found the Utahime effective with longer-stroke actions. When targeting tuna, shorter strokes can be effective, particularly around active feeding schools. Stroke length, speed, and pauses can be adjusted according to the target species and fishing conditions.
Specifications
Model: Utahime 95-210mm SH / SH-L
Length: 210 mm
Weight: Approx. 95 g
Type: Floating (F)
Recommended Hook Weight: Approx. 10 g per hook
Recommended Split Ring: 250 lb
Target Species: Tuna, Hiramasa (Yellowtail Kingfish), GT (Giant Trevally), Yellowtail (Buri)
Made in Japan
Hook & Split Ring Recommendation
Carpenter recommends approximately 10 g per hook with a 250 lb split ring for the Utahime 95-210.
These specifications are design recommendations. Hook and split-ring size may be adjusted according to the target species, fishing conditions, and desired lure buoyancy.
Utahime Action
The Utahime's slender body and light water-pushing action distinguish it from Carpenter's Gamma and Blue Fish series.
This different action gives anglers another presentation when fish are reluctant to respond to standard diving pencils. Longer strokes can be effective when targeting Hiramasa and GT, while shorter strokes can be used for tuna, particularly around active feeding schools.
Proven on Trophy Fish
The Carpenter Utahime 95-210 SH / SH-L has demonstrated its capability on powerful offshore gamefish in catches documented by Carpenter.
Carpenter's official catch records include a 46 kg (approx. 101 lb) Yellowfin Tuna caught on the Utahime 95-210 SH-L in 2025. Carpenter's 2026 catch records also document a Bluefin Tuna caught on the Utahime 95-210 SH.
These documented field results demonstrate the Utahime's capability as a serious offshore casting lure for large tuna, GT, and Hiramasa.
Please Note
Weight is approximate and may vary slightly between the SH and SH-L models and individual lures. Colors, patterns, and finishes may also vary slightly.
Hook and split-ring specifications are Carpenter's design recommendations and may be adjusted depending on the target species and desired lure buoyancy.

Carpenter Strike Eagle FG Series – SE120-230mm / SE150-245mm
The Carpenter Strike Eagle FG Series is a high-specific-gravity version of Carpenter's Strike Eagle, offered in multiple FG configurations for serious offshore casting applications. The current FG lineup includes the SE120-230mm FG and SE150-245mm FG, with FG-N and FG-MD models.
The Strike Eagle was developed with a different action character from Carpenter lures such as the Gamma, Blue Fish, Maihime, Gen-ei and Hayabusa. Carpenter designed the Strike Eagle to provide another presentation option when changing lure action can make the difference in triggering a strike.
One of the strengths of the Strike Eagle is its controllability in challenging surface conditions. According to Carpenter, the lure is particularly easy to work when small wind waves or current-driven surface chop make it difficult to impart clean action to a lure. It is also designed to be easy to operate from boats with higher casting decks.
The Strike Eagle responds to short- through medium-stroke actions, giving anglers flexibility to adjust their presentation according to sea conditions and fish activity. Carpenter lists Hiramasa (yellowtail/kingfish), GT, tuna and buri (Japanese amberjack) among the target species for the Strike Eagle.
Carpenter develops its lures through field testing and states that its lure lineup is designed around different lure types, sizes and actions so anglers can adapt to changing bait, fish activity and sea conditions.
