Black Hole Cape Cod Striper 92
Purchased this rod last year and found the 9'2" version to be an extremely versatile rod for all Fall Surf species. I had cut off approximately 3 inches off the tail end and pushed the butt cap back on so it can be more maneuverable while fighting the fish from different angles. It is extremely light (while paired with a Shimano Stradic 5000) and I didn't feel fatigued despite fishing for over 5 straight hours. While it delivered everything I had expected while fishing for Bluefish and schoolie Stripers, it really shined while I stopped by a jetty for "one last cast" while fishing for Blackfish. The backbone of the rod was strong enough to lift a keeper onto the rocks, while the tip was sensitive enough to detect the lightest taps. Can't wait to try it for Fluke next season.
